My first home!

After a year and a half of exhausting and spending Saturday mornings driving from one end of Cobb County to the other, I finally decided on the perfect home. It’s a brick townhouse in Marietta built in the late 70’s. I knew that I wanted to live in this particular neighborhood, so it was just the matter of choosing a house.

My realtors were great – Lauren and Rich Stormont at Keller Williams. They selected three homes for me to view the first Saturday. I told them I wasn’t afraid of a fixer-upper, but the first house needed… a complete makeover. To say the least. No thank you. The second house was okay, good back yard, just seemed overpriced. The third house was nice, and with a sigh, I figured I’d make a bid on it. As we were walking out of the third house, we noticed another home for sale at the end of the culdesac. Although it wasn’t on the list, Rich got us in with his code-cracking realtor key. The door opened and there it was. My new home.

Gorgeous cherry wood floors, brand new carpet, hideous kitchen cabinets, a beautiful dining room with great natural lighting and a backyard that would give Ahmed Hassan a run for his money. Then I noticed the oddest thing. One of the bedrooms upstairs had a random sink around the corner of the closet. Apparently it used to be cool to have a “morning bar” with a sink and mini fridge in the bedroom. I quickly realized that a sink in this huge bedroom meant plumbing. And if there’s plumbing for a sink, maybe there could be plumbing for a full bathroom…? And Voila! The adventure begins…
